The Write Stuff
Strategic career profiling, personalised application systems, and hands-on job search support. Built around who you actually are and what you value in a role. Not reshaping yourself to fit a template.
See how it works →Resume writers format what you give them. Career coaches talk through your options. Neither starts by understanding how you think, what drives you, what lights you up or shuts you down.
The result? Applications that sound like everyone else. Cover letters that could belong to any candidate. Hours spent tailoring documents for roles that were never the right fit in the first place.
You end up doing the hardest parts alone: figuring out which roles are worth your time, translating your experience into language that lands, and staying consistent across dozens of applications without losing your voice.
The Write Stuff starts with what you already have: your resume, your project history, your experience. A short survey fills in the rest, covering how you work best, what you value, and what kind of environment brings out your strongest work. From there, it builds a personalised application system grounded in your actual experience. Every recommendation, every draft, every piece of advice traces back to real evidence.
Upload your resume, portfolio, project history, whatever you have. Then answer a few questions about what you’re looking for: target roles, industries, locations, and salary expectations. This takes about 15 minutes and doesn’t require any major formatting. Do you have 12 versions of ever so slightly different resumes? Send them over, we’ll sort through it.
This isn’t a resume rewrite. It’s a comprehensive profile of your professional identity: how you think, what you’re best at, what drives you, where you’re heading, and how to get the best out of you in the workplace. It synthesises everything you’ve provided into a single, clear document that works for you, for recruiters, and for hiring managers. Think of it as your career translated into language that opens doors.
Using your briefing pack and full portfolio, we build a structured system tailored to your voice, your evidence, and your target roles. You upload a job description. The system runs a full analysis: company research, keyword mapping, portfolio matching, gap assessment, and a recommended approach. You confirm the strategy, then we draft. Every application is grounded in real experience. Nothing fabricated. Nothing generic. Cut through that still meets ATS requirements.
The system learns as you use it. New information surfaces in conversation. Positioning sharpens. Your evidence base deepens. By your third or fourth application, the quality is noticeably stronger than your first, because everything compounds.
Every engagement starts with the same deep profiling work. Choose the level of ongoing support that fits where you are in your search.
You know what you want but need sharper positioning. You want high-quality foundational documents you can use on your own terms.

This works best for mid-career to senior professionals who have a body of work worth showcasing but struggle to translate it into applications that do them justice.
You might be navigating a career pivot and need to reframe your experience for a new sector. You might be a strong operator who undersells yourself on paper. Or you might work in environments where discretion matters and generic career advice falls flat.
Common backgrounds include government, consulting, and professional services, but the methodology works across sectors. What matters is real experience and wanting it represented properly.
I built The Write Stuff because I needed it myself.
I was applying for senior roles, the kind where the job description is three pages long and the response requires real evidence packaged in a one pager. I had the experience. I had the runs on the board. But translating that into compelling, tailored applications for every role was taking hours I didn’t have. Not to mention the emotional effort.
So I built a system. A structured methodology for career profiling, evidence mapping, and application strategy that produces consistently strong output, grounded in real experience and written in my voice. I’ve iterated, refined, redesigned and optimised it. I wanted to see if it could translate to other people. What the system created was powerful. Incredibly powerful. And most importantly, effective.
Now I use that same system for clients. Every engagement starts with the same deep profiling work I developed for myself, and every application is held to the same standard: evidence-led, honestly positioned, and written to sound like you, not a template.
I’m based in Canberra, and I’ve spent my career across consulting, design, strategy, and transformation in both government and private sectors. The Write Stuff is one part of what I do. If you want the fuller picture, take a look around.

Resume writers format what you give them. The Write Stuff starts with the end in mind, reviewing whatever bits and pieces you can find and curating a deep profile of your professional identity. From there, it builds a personalised system that produces tailored applications grounded in your actual evidence. The Career briefing pack weaves together the disparate parts of you as a person and your work experience into a detailed document you can use to populate effective CVs and applications. It goes far deeper than any resume service could. The application system then produces cover letters, selection criteria responses, and tailored CVs that sound like you and hold up under scrutiny. Most importantly, it works with you to review potential roles, assess their cultural signifiers, and help you decide whether a role and organisation would actually enable you to bring your best self to work each day.
No. The intake is a simple conversation where you upload your documents and answer a few questions. For Tier 2 and 3, the application system works through a chat interface in natural language. No fancy prompting required. If you can send a message, you can use it.
If you’re early in your thinking and want clarity on positioning, start with Tier 1. If you’re actively searching and want hands-on support, Tier 2 gives you a strong foundation with 14 days of application access. If you’re running a serious campaign, Tier 3 is the recommended option. Start at Tier 1 and decide to upgrade? Your briefing pack and profile carry forward. Just get in touch within 30 days of receiving your documents, otherwise you’ll need to reupload them (include any feedback received so it can be incorporated).
Tier 1 documents are delivered within 5 business days. Tier 2 and 3 application access begins after your strategy session, typically 7–10 business days from intake, pending calendars. From there, application turnaround within the system is fast, usually same-day.
